Benzodioxole derivatives are provided having a substituent in the phenyl ring which is a carboxyalkylthioalkyl or the like. Such derivatives are effective to treat a liver disease. Compositions comprising such derivatives are also provided, together with the use of such derivatives for the manufacture of medicaments.
