PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance of the operation side of a magnesia-carbon brick and the oxidation resistance of the rear side. CONSTITUTION:A magnesia-carbon brick is composed of a high carbon layer 2 at the operation side 1, a low carbon layer 4 at the rear side 5 and a middle layer 3 between the layers 2, 4. The thickness of the high carbon layer 2 and that of the low carbon layer 4 are respectively regulated to 50-90% and <=50% of the full length of the brick from the operation side 1 to the rear side 5. The brick withstands thermal shocks because of the above-mentioned multilayered structure, has high corrosion resistance because of the high carbon layer at the operation side and also has high oxidation resistance because of the low carbon layer at the rear side. The firebrick has a long service life and the cost is reduced. |
