PURPOSE:To provide a thermosensitive recording material for laser recording and a recording method suitable to record a multicoloor recording image by converting laser beam light energy to heat energy in a non-contact thermosensitive recording material. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material wherein a thermal layer containing a substantially colorless color former and a developer is provided on a support, said thermal layer contains two or more kinds of image forming units each composed of a dye converting laser beam to heat energy and becoming colorless upon the absorption of light of a specific wavelength range and is irradiated with laser beam at every image forming unit to perform recording. The thermal recording material for laser recording is irradiated with light of the specific wavelength range on the side of the thermal layer and/or the support to make it possible to make the dye colorless. |
