Esters of urs-12-en-3 beta ,28-diol or ursa-9(11),12-dien-3 beta ,28-diol having the formula <CHEM> in which the dotted line between carbon atoms 9 and 11 represents an optional bond, each of the structures -OC-R-CO- (which may be the same or different) represents the residue of a dicarboxylic acid having up to 12 carbon atoms and each M (which may be the same or different) represents hydrogen or one equivalent of a pharmaceutically acceptable inorganic or organic cation are provided which exhibit anti-ulcer activity.
