<p>A wiping apparatus 12 comprising a wiping roll 15 and cleaning members 17a to 17d for cleaning the peripheral surface of the wiping roll 15, some of the cleaning members 17a to 17d consisting of a base 20 disposed along the longitudinal direction of the roll and a sheet pad 21 which is curved in an arch form and secured to this base 20 in the direction of rotation of the roll, and has a multitude of tiny openings 23 for scraping ink in a top section 22 in elastic contact with at least the peripheral surface of the wiping roll. <IMAGE></p> |
