PURPOSE:To improve stability of a vehicle and a feeling of ride by preventing a piston rod from being suddenly extended by a suspension spring immediately after descending a step difference or the like on a road surface, in the case of a hydraulic shock absorber for absorbing a shock of vibration in the vehicle or the like. CONSTITUTION:An inertia plate 28 is slidably fitted to the periphery of a piston rod 7 and energized to a side of a stopper 29 by a spring 30 to detach pins 31, 32 from an orifice 6E and an oil hole 6D of a piston 6. When the piston rod 7 is suddenly extended in a direction of arrow mark E1, the inertia plate 28 is displaced in a downward direction against the spring 30 to close the orifice 6E and the oil hole 6D by the pins 31, 32. |
