An intercepting device for sand or straw in cat litters. When a cat litter is housed indoors, it is desirable to have a device which prevents/obstructs the passage of sand from the cat litter to outside the cat litter when the cat does its business/moves out of the cat litter. This requirement has been met by the placement on the cat litter of a device constituted by a box having internally placed perforated steps (one or more). In order to get to/from the cat litter, the cat is forced to pass through the box via the perforated step(s). When the cat does its business (for example, digs in the sand), the sand is prevented from passing outside the cat litter by the walls of the box. The majority of the sand which sticks in/on the paws of the cat when it does its business comes loose/falls off when the cat is forced to move from the cat litter via the steps of the box. The steps can be mounted/fixed at a selective height/optional position in the box. In the top part of the box there are placed one or more removable intermediate floors. <IMAGE> |
