PURPOSE:To obtain grinding chips of high performance by baking at a low temperature for a short time, by using a glass powder/bentonite powder mixture of a particular ratio for a bonding material to be blended with abrasive grains and baking them at a particular temperature. CONSTITUTION:A glass powder/bentonite powder mixture of a weight ratio 1:1- 9:1 as a bonding material is mixed with abrasive grains, and after formed and dried, they are baked at 700-1,000 deg.C. As the glass powder, that of a working temperature below about 1,100 deg.C, a softening temperature about 650-800 deg.C and grain sizes all pass through 120 mesh or smaller is used, and as the bentonite powder, that of grain sizes all pass through 325 mesh is used. By so doing, a strong bonding material can be obtained, so that barrel grinding chips of high performance can be obtained by baking at a low temperature for a short time. |
