<p>PURPOSE:To realize joint and termination of a power cable for improve workability and prolonging service life thereof. CONSTITUTION:An insulator 1 of a power cable 2 is removed to expose a conductor 7 and it is then inserted into a stress cone having an internal diameter which is smaller than external diameter of the power cable 2. A contact surface of the power cable 2 or stress cone 3 is coated with gelated silicone for the purpose of insertion. Moreover, better interface condition is ensured by coating, with the gelated silicone, an interface of a connecting part of the stress cone 3 and the stress cone for inserting the stress cone 3. Thereby, excellent lubrication can be obtained by coating of the gelated silicone and insertion can be done easily and effectively. In addition, since the gelated silicone stays between the stress cone 3 and power cable 2 and between the stress cone 3 and connecting part 4, maintaining the gelated condition for a long period of time, this silicone does not generate any voids and follows up thermal expansion of stress cone 3.</p> |
