Class 52(2) A reclining chair with a leg rest 42, carried on a lazytag linkage pivoted to the seat at 40 and to a link 26 pivoted by a link 32 to the chair frame at 34 has a leg-rest extension 68 pivoted at 70 to the leg-rest and moved out into extended position by a link 62 coupled to one arm of a lever 54 when the chair back is moved into the reclined position, the seat 18 and back 20 being pivoted together and to the frame at 22 and link 26 being operated by a member 24 secured to the back 20. In a modification, Fig. 5, the leg-rest extension 168 is operated by a link 162 connected to a projection 160 of bar 154 pivoted to the leg-rest. In a further modification, Fig. 7, the leg-rest 242 is pivoted to the seat 218 by a link 238 and the extension 268 is operated by link 262 connected to an extension 260 of bar 226 which is pivoted to the leg-rest at 258. In another modification, Fig. 9, bar 354 has an extension 360 which operates the extension via link 362. In yet another modification, Fig. 11, the seat 418 is pivoted by a link 438 to member 432 and members 426,448 have a pin and slot connection at 482, the member 426 having an extension 460 which operates the leg-rest extension 468 by means of a link 462. In a still further modification, Fig. 13, the seat is pivoted on a link 538 and the leg-rest extension is operated by an extension 560 of member 554 through a link 562. |
