Insecticidal and acaricidal compounds of Formula (I): (I) Ar(CH2)xO(CH2)mA(CH2)n(CE<1>=CE<2>)a(CE<3>=CE<4>)CONR<1>Z wherein Ar is phenyl or naphthyl, in either case unsubstituted or substituted by one or more of Cl-6 alkyl, halogen, Cl-6 alkoxy, optionally substituted Cl-6 alkyl, or optionally substituted C1-6 alkoxy x = 0 or l m = l to 7 n = l to 7 A = CH2 or oxygen a = 0 to l R<1> is independently selected from hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl and C3-6 cycloalkyl (either of which may be substituted by one or more of halo, C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkoxy, C2-6 alkynyl, dioxalanyl and C3-6 cycloalkyl Z represents a group: -C<1> (RA)(RB)-C<2>(RC)(RD)(RE) wherein RA and RB, which may be identical or different, each represent hydrogen or methyl; RC represents methyl, RD represents methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, isopropyl, t-butyl or vinyl; and RE represents hydrogen or methyl, or wherein RC and RD form a methylene group (=CH2) or together with C<2> form a cyclopropane or cyclobutane ring, RA, RB and RE representing hydrogen or methyl, or wherein RA and RC together with C<1> and C<2> form a cyclobutane ring, RB, RD and RE independently representing hydrogen or methyl: E<1>, E<2>, E<3> and E<4> are independently selected from hydrogen, C1-4 alkyl optionally substituted by halo, or nitrile, provided that at least one of E<1>, E<2>, E<3> and E<4> is optionally substituted alkyl or nitrile. except that the compound (2E, 4E) N-isobutyl 3-methyl-7-(3-chlorophenoxy)-dodeca-2, 4,dienamide is excluded.
