PURPOSE:To reduce a preamble length and a guard time without increasing a power penalty in the burst optical receiver comprising an AC coupling amplifier circuit. CONSTITUTION:A burst optical signal is converted into a voltage by a preamplifier circuit 26 having a low frequency interrupt angular frequency omega0 via a light receiving element 1. Its output is amplified by a post stage amplifier circuit 27 having a gain G1 and peaks 28, 29 of its noninverted output and an inverted output are detected by peak detectors 1, 2. An offset detection circuit 30 averages outputs of the peak detectors 1, 2 and the result in inputted to an inverting input of an offset control circuit 31 having a high frequency interrupt angular frequency omega2. The output of the peak detector 2 is inputted to an noninverting input of the offset control circuit 31. The output of the offset control circuit 31 is fed back to an inverting input of the post stage amplifier circuit 27. Through the configuration above, the angular frequencies and the gains are set as omega0=omega1 and G1XG2. |
