The heat exchanger of the invention comprises a bundle of tubes (12) arranged in rows and having respective bodies (14) and respective ends (18) accommodated in through holes of a manifold. The body (14) of each tube (12) has an oval cross-section with a long axis (A1) pointing in a first direction (D1), while the end (18) of the tube is deformed with respect to the body in order to exhibit an oval cross-section having a long axis (A2) pointing in a direction (D2) allowing an angular offset with respect to the first direction (D1). It is thus possible to obtain compact heat exchangers, in which the flow of fluid passing through the bundle undergoes a minimal head loss. <IMAGE>
