PURPOSE:To record image with high grade by a structure wherein bend detect test pattern of a line type record means is recorded, the pattern is read, and the bend of the record means is corrected mechanically in accordance with the read signal. CONSTITUTION:When a bend of a line type record head 7 is to be corrected, a bend detect test pattern 21 which becomes a straight line in the cross direction of a material to be recorded 1 is recorded by the record head 7. After the recording, the material to be recorded 1 is conveyed until a paper delivery roller 9. Next, driving of a conveyor belt 4 is stopped and the paper delivery roller 9 is rotated for a predetermined quantity so as to make the material 1 stretched linearly. When the pattern 21 is conveyed to under a head bend read unit 12, the paper delivery roller 9 is stopped and a motor 25 is driven in this state so as to move the unit 12, so that the pattern 21 is scanned, bending state is detected, and bend correction motors 15 and 16 are driven in accordance with the result of the detection so as to correct the bend of the record head 7. |
