PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a decoded voice by the voice encoding device, which performs the vector quantization of a sound source, without any increase in bit rate even when a transfer bit rate is low. CONSTITUTION:Which of plural sound code books 5 is used is specified previously according to a linear prediction coefficient information code vector and then the specific sound source code book corresponding to the linear prediction coefficient information vector selected in a linear prediction coefficient information code book 2 is specified with a switch 8; and a sound code vector is selected by a sound source code vector selector 6 among sound source code vectors stored in the sound source code book by switching a switch 9. The number of the selected linear prediction coefficient information code vector and the number of the sound source code vector are sent as vector quantized values to a multiplexer 10 to become code data. |
