PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber having excellent heat-resistance, formability, chemical resistance, dimensional stability and flame-retardancy and useful as bag filter, interior aircraft trim, etc., by melt-spinning a polythioether aromatic ketone having a specific recurring unit at a temperature within a prescribed range. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber is produced by melt-spinning a polythioether aromatic ketone having the recurring unit of formula (-phi-is p-phenylene) at 300-380 deg.C to obtain a filament having a birefringence of <=5X10<-2>, drawing the spun fiber 1.5-14 times at 120-200 deg.C and heat-setting at a temperature between the above drawing temperature and 300 deg.C at a stretching ratio of 0.8-2. |
