PURPOSE:To provide the title inhibitor for use as an anti-platelet aggregative agent of anti-thrombotic agent, containing, as active ingredient, a polypeptide having or containing a specific amino acid sequence suppressive in platelet aggregation and serotonin release through cathepsin G leading to thrombosis inhibition. CONSTITUTION:The objective inhibitor containing, as active ingredient, (A) a polypeptide having or containing an amino acid sequence of the formula (a polypeptide having 53 amino acid and, in addition, an amino acid sequence at the N- and/or C-terminal(s) same as or different from the amino acid sequence of the formula) or (B) a polypeptide having another kind of amino acid sequence biologically equivalent to the above amino acid sequence. It is preferable that the polypeptide be prepared by isolating and purifying, followed by protease treatment, natural SLP1 found, e.g. in airway secretion, saliva, pituita, sperm, or uterine mucus, among others, by genetic engineering technique. |
