<p>PURPOSE:To convert Zn vapor and sulfur vapor into ZnO and SiO2 and to recover ZnO as flue cinder by blowing raw material and reaction gas into a furnace, making FeO together with gangue in the raw material into slag and mixing new reaction gas with the sulfur vapor decomposing ZnS. CONSTITUTION:The raw material containing iron sulfide, zinc sulfide and gangue component, flux containing silicate and lime and oxygen-containing reaction gas, are reacted to generate the Zn vapor, FeO and Sin2. Together with this, molten slag containing iron oxide, silicate and 0.3-15% sulfur content, is produced at >=1200 deg.C. The FeO and the gangue component are separated into the molten slag. On the other hand, Zn vapor is brought into contact with the air for oxidizing to convert this into ZnO, and a large part of zinc in the raw material is recovered as the flue cinder. This flue cinder is dissolved with sulfuric acid to make zinc sulfate solution. This zinc sulfate solution is electrolyzed to recover the metallic zinc.</p> |
