PURPOSE:To provide a low foamable scouring agent containing a specific compound as a main component and extremely effective for scouring fibers, especially non-seized polyester fibers. CONSTITUTION:A low foamable scouring agent containing a compound of the formula: RO(PO)l(EO)m(O)nH (R is 16-24C saturated or unsaturated linear hydrocarbon group; PO is propylene oxide adduct block unit; EO is ethylene oxide adduct block unit; l is 3-20; m is 650; n is 1-5) as a main component and effective for fibers, e.g. synthetic or semi-synthetic fibers such as polyester fibers, nylon fibers, acrylic fibers or acetate fibers, natural fibers such as cotton, ramie or wool, or their blended and interlaced products. In the compound, the linear hydrocarbon group is preferably the residue of cetyl alcohol, oleyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol or behenyl alcohol, and l, m, and n are preferably 5-15, 15-40, and 2-4, respectively. The compound is preferably used in a concentration of 0.1-5g/l. |
