Pressed articles based on pyrogenically prepd. TiO2, with external dia. 2-15 mm, BET surface 35-65 square m/g, pore vol. 0.3-0.8 cc/g, no pores below 10 nm in dia. and at least 80% of pores in range of 10-70 nm, breaking strength 40-300 N, and contg. at least 94 wt.% TiO2 (more than 50 wt.% anatase), the rest being SiO2 and Al2O3, are claimed.
