Wood-splitting machine - has base frame and movable cutter, wood is held on plate and guided by pins thus preventing injury

The machine has a base frame (1) and a horizontally-moving cutter which has a hydraulic cylinder (5) with support for the wood and a splitting-wedge (3). The holder plate (7) moves longitudinally on a thrust-block (6) on which are at least two guide-pins (9), and has at least two symmetrical centring-pieces (8). The holder-plate has elongated holes (10) in it and is moved longitudinally between the holder-plate and the thrust-block either by a lever-system (11,12) on the base-frame or by a hydraulic cylinder. The front of the lever is in the form of a slide-runner (12). ADVANTAGE - The wood-splitting machine prevents injury to the operator by the wood being held and centred for the splitting process by a movably mounted holder-plate and centering pieces.
