The bobbin winder has a reciprocating yarn guide system where two parallel paths for the guides has a system to transfer the yarn at the end of the stroke from the yarn guide on one path to the guide on the other path which travels in the opposite direction. Reciprocating yarn guides are fitted to each path, tightly packed together, moved by a recirculating drive. Pref., the recirculating drive is a belt, where the yarn guides are fixed to the outer surface so that each belt level is part of a continuous belt and both are powered by a common drive, or they have separate drives. The yarn guides ride on a fixed sliding rail, with a keyed bond between the guides and the recirculating drive belts, with a separate sliding rail for each belt. The recirculating drive acts at just one point on the sliding rail and the recirculation of the guides is through the keyed link between neighbouring guides. The yarn guides can be formed by projecting combs from chain links, so that the links form an uninterrupted line of yarn guides on the outer side as a constant row of yarn guides. ADVANTAGE - The mechanism ensures that the yarn tension is constant, and that the yarn is safely caught on each direction change, even when working with high reciprocating speeds, so that the yarn is carried correctly along the bobbin length for even winding.
