PURPOSE:To obtain an insulated electric wire which is prevented from developing cracks even when bent or wound by coating a conductor with an ultraviolet- curing resin composition containing an organic cushioning material not participating in crosslinking, and then irradiating the coating with ultraviolet to cure it. CONSTITUTION:An organic cushioning material not participating in crosslinking (preferably an elastomeric, particulate material, e.g. a silicone copolymer and a boron compound copolymer, having particle diameters of 0.5-10mu) is incorporated into an ultraviolet-curing resin composition (containing, for example, a photopolymerizable oligomer, a photopolymerizable monomer, and a photoinitiator). This composition is applied to a conductor and is then cured by irradiating the coating with ultraviolet to thereby obtain an insulated electric wire which is prevented from developing cracks even when bent or wound. |
