Drying of flowable paste-like prods. e.g. coal - using indirectly heated fluidised bed to increase pressure

In the drying of flowable, paste-like products (I) contg. 5-98 wt.% water, indirectly heated fluidised bed is used, out of which, after heating, the resulting steam and fluidised medium leave as waste steam, fluidised with part of the waste steam after puriicn., esp. dedusting, by recirculation and utilisation of the waste steam. The technical work required for the recirculation enables a pressure increase by 5-50 kPa completely or partially by expansion of the waste steam of 95-150 kPa by removing work of less than 10 kPa using condensation, working in this pressure-range, which is produced in the fluidised bed by indirect heat transfer. Also claimed is the apparatus for the above process. USE/ADVANTAGE - For coal, esp. lignite or slurries. The process is suitable for use in industry, construction industry and agriculture. It is environmentally friendly and improves the operating economics.
