PURPOSE:To improve the complexity of operation due to the conversion of a different form character. CONSTITUTION:A KANA (Japanese syllabary) character string inputted from a keyboard(KB) 7 is converted by referring a KANA/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion dictionary and the converted character string is displayed on the screen of a CRT 12 as a conversion candidate. On the other hand, whether a reference character form stored in a different form character dictionary or a different form KANJI such as a popular form and abbreviated form is included in the character string or not is checked, and when the corresponding character is included, different form character conversion is applied to the character by referring the different form character dictionary and the converted character string is displayed on the screen of the CRT 12 as another conversion candidate. Since the character included in the different form character dictionary out of characters included in the KANA/KANJI converted character string is automatically processed by different form character conversion, operability following the different form character conversion can be improved. |
