PURPOSE:To provide an image forming mask material hard to generate the release of a laminating material after processing and easy to handle by using a laminating adhesive excellent in bonding strength. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer layer 1a is transferred to a receiving material 7 and a laminating material 13 is bonded to the image surface of said layer 1a to form an image forming mask material original form. The surface having the thermal transfer layer 1a thermally transferred thereto of the receiving material 7 is cut at the part where the laminating material 13 is directly applied to prepare an image forming mask material 18. The thermal transfer layer 1a is not exposed at the cut outer edge part 18a of the mask material.
