<p>Device for heating a liquid comprising an elongate heating element (8) which extends in this liquid, for the purpose in particular of producing vapour. Arranged freely on this elongate heating element (8) is an antifouling, particularly antiscale, device (12) comprising a series of parts which are rolled around the heating element and spaced in the longitudinal direction of the latter and which, under the effect of the movement of the liquid which may be loaded with vapour and/or of the formation of vapour bubbles on the peripheral surface of the heating element (8), are displaced in relation to this surface, thus making it possible to avoid at least in part the deposit of solid matter, in particular scale, on the heating element.
