Hydrogen@ electrode used for gas sensor - contains hydrogen@-filled hollow glass microspheres

In a hydrogen electrode with a container contg. an electrolyte soln. into which a contact element extends, the container also contains hollow glass microspheres (7) filled with hydrogen under pressure, pref. more than 100 bars (at room temp.). Novel gas sensor comprises hydrogen electrode and a porons electro-catalyst which contacts the electrolyte soln. (10) and the gas being tested. USE/ADVANTAGE - The electrode is a standard hydrogen reference electrode useful in a gas sensor, esp. an oxygen sensor for determining oxygen contents in protective gases, combustion gases, respiratory air, and liqs. such as waste waters. It has low current requirement and high potential stability.
