The window is provided with a system to regulate its transparency. The window (1) has two panes arranged almost parallel to each other with the gap (4) between the two panes increasing from a minimum at the lower edges to a maximum at the upper edges. The panes (2,3) are mounted in a fixed frame (6) which seals the edges of the panes. The gas (4) between the panes is partly filled with a liquid (7) which is partially opaque and has a viscosity which enables it to be spread over the inner suraces of the panes. A slider (8) with a handle (10) slides in vertical guides (11) in the frame (6). As this handle is pushed upwards the panes (2) and (3) are pressed together so that the liquid is spread over an increased area of the panes and reduces their transparency.
