PURPOSE:To brake a linear motion table and to especially brake inertia traveling when the driving system of the moving table is in uncontrollable state. CONSTITUTION:A moving table 6 is provided slidably with respect to a linear guide 4, a rack 11 is laid along the linear guide, an electromagnetic brake 14 is mounted on the moving table, and the gear 16 on the rotary shaft of the electromagnetic brake is meshed with the rack. Furthermore, a control circuit 25 is provided comprising a circuit 33 for detecting the abnormal state of power supply, an auxiliary power supply 35, and a switching circuit 36 for modifying the power supply state of the electromagnetic brake 14 upon detection of abnormal power supply. Since a brake unit is provided independently from the driving system, brake operation can be performed irrespective of the state of the driving system. |
