Thermal transfer material esp. for printing bar code on rough substrate - having ink coat with low needle penetration and adhesion to base
摘要
<p>Thermal transfer registering material has a base coated with either : (1) heat-fusible ink contg. a heat-fusible material (I) (needle penetration = max. 2 at 25 deg.C) and a colorant (II), with shear strength = 8-20 gf/cm at 20 deg.C and adhesion to the base = 1.0-2.0 gf/cm; or (2) a first ink coat contg. fine (I) particles (average dia. = 0.5-3 microns) with porosity = 55-30 vol.%, covered by a second ink coat of (I) and (II). USE/ADVANTAGE - The material is esp. useful with high-speed bar code printers. It is highly sensitive and easily gives sharp prints with excellent resistance to rubbing, even on relatively rough acceptor sheets, e.g. regenerated paper with a Bekk smoothness of only 50-150 s.</p>
