The internal smoke-cartridge container is for a towed airborne target. The smoke-marking cartridges are accommodated in a container inside the target body. This is connected by fresh-air-feed and smoke-discharge conduits to the ambient air, forced draught through it being generated by aerodynamic back-pressure. A turbine-driven electric generator can be mounted in the path of the draught. ADVANTAGE - Simple construction and maintenance, minimum drag, and largely avoids generating acoustic resonance.
