The backing box (7) is suitable for either a wall socket (1) or a switch. The cable entry with cable tie is at the bottom (14,15). Below the lip at around the top of the box are recesses (6) into which the tongues of the snap fittings (4) on the side of the socket or switch engage. The upper part of the snap fitting (5) rests on top of the lip. The tongue (4) projects right through the wall of the box into a recess in the wall (9). A cover plate (10) has an outer edge (12) which clips over the top of the snap fitting of the socket or switch and around the lip of the backing box. ADVANTAGE - Simple, versatile construction needing no screw attachments.
