The seat recliner has a back-rest (7) and seat forming a rigid unit, with a foot-rest (5) adjustably or movably mounted in the transverse or longitudinal frame (6). The seat-unit (7) is moved downwards and backwards by pivot points (1,2,3,4), and the foot-part is pulled upwards. Diagonal struts (12) are attached by one pivot point (1) to the chair-frame (6) and by another pivot point (4) to the seat-unit (7). The foot-rest is linked by the pivot point (2) to the chair-frame by a spacer-bar. Pull-out arm-rests (9,10) are linked to the frame. ADVANTAGE - The mechanism for the seat/recliner can be incorporated into any chair frame and enables the sitter- whether on a garden chair, hair-dressing salon chair, wheel-chair etc.- to resume a normal sitting position easily.
