DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To obtain a discharge lamp lighting device for which a high voltage pulse generated from an ignitor circuit is not applied to parts in an inverter circuit even when the connection line of a discharge lamp has contact with the line of the negative electrode of a DC power supply. CONSTITUTION:A capacitor CS is connected between a connection line to connect the output of an inverter 7 and a secondary winding of a pulse transformer PT in an ignitor circuit 5 and a body B to which the negative electrode of a DC power supply 1 is connected. A lead wire A connects a discharge lamp 3 to the secondary winding of the pulse transformer PT. When the lead wire A is grounded, a closed circuit which is formed by the secondary winding of the pulse transformer, the capacitor CS, the lead wire A and the secondary winding of the pulse transformer PT in sequence bypasses a high voltage pulse generated from the pulse transformer PT.
