PURPOSE:To decrease torque shock at the time of generating abnormal operation of intake control valves. CONSTITUTION:When one of intake control valves 27-30 at a recess part is not operated in valve opened or closed condition, fuel supply to a cylinder (abnormal cylinder) corresponding to the inoperative intake control valve is stopped is, and the valve opening period of the intake control valves except the inoperative intake valve is increased, and then a fuel supply quantity to the other cylinders (normal cylinders) except the abnormal cylinder is increased. Consequently, torque shock can be decreased by compensating the decrease in torque caused by non-combustion in the abnormal cylinder, by means of increase in the torque of the normal cylinders.
