PURPOSE:To reduce the number of constituting parts of a speed meter mechanism and provide sufficient lubrication by providing a speed meter drive gear in a pre-load spacer formed between bearings rotatably holding a gear shaft, and engaging a speed meter driven gear fixed to a speed meter shaft with the speed meter drive gear. CONSTITUTION:Teeth of a speed meter drive gear 48 are formed on the outer face of a pre-load spacer 34 in a speed meter mechanism 46, a speed meter driven gear 50 is engaged with the speed meter drive gear 48, and the gear 50 is fixed at one end of a speed meter shaft 52. A drive pinion shaft 12 is rotatively supported by a tapered roller bearing 30 and a tapered roller bearing 32 separated from each other, and the spacer 34 is arranged between the bearings 30, 32. The teeth of the gear 48 are formed on the spacer 34, no gear is required to be separately provided, the number of constituting parts can be reduced, the mechanism 46 is lubricated by a lubricant fed from an oil passage, thus it can be effectively lubricated.
