PURPOSE:To provide a steering wheel provided with an impact energy absorber whereby a predetermined amount of impact energy can be absorbed even when the impact energy absorber is mounted to a predetermined position in a side of a steering wheel main unit in an upper part location thereof. CONSTITUTION:Core metals 1, 2, impact energy absorber 10 deformed by decreasing height dimension in a vertical direction at the time of action of impact force F from the above and a pad 6 for coating the impact energy absorber 10 are arranged successively from a lower part in a boss part B in a central location of a steering wheel W1. In the impact energy absorber 10, a mounting piece 15, protruded to the outer in almost a horizontal direction, is provided in an upper part peripheral edge. In the mounting piece 15, a mounting hole 15a for stopping the impact energy absorber 10 to a steering wheel main unit Wa by a screw 9 is formed. The mounting hole 15a opens a peripheral edge in a peripheral edge side of a pad 6. |
