摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To reduce the entire decoding processing time by utilizing the simplified decoding processing under the specific condition. CONSTITUTION:Upon the detection of a synchronizing code RSC, a decoder 5 decodes a DC component code DC of an input coding string D4 and an inverse quantizer 6 applies inverse quantization to a decoding data D5 to obtain an orthogonal transformation coefficient D6. Then the coefficient D6 is processed by an inverse orthogonal transformation circuit 7 to obtain a decoded picture data D7, which is inputted to a changeover device 11. On the other hand, a decoding main sequencer 9 allows an integral multiple device 10 receiving the coefficient D6 to produce a tentative decoding picture data D10 by using a setting signal D91 and sets a DC component decoding end flag in its own circuit thereby decoding an AC component code AC. When an EOB is detected and an end flag is set, the changeover device 11 is operated to switch a generating source of the decoded picture D11 from the transformation circuit 7 into the integral multiple device 10, which gives the tentative decoding picture data D10 to a block configuration circuit 8. Thus, the entire decoding processing time is reduced.</p>
