The prodn. of an alkanone and/or alkanol comprising mixt. in a solvent by a decomposition of an alkyl hydroperoxide in the presence of a metal cpd. immobilised on a carrier. The carrier carries aliphatic or aromatic amine gps. or sulphide gps. Also claimed is the prepn. of an alkanone and/or alkanol by oxidising an alkane with 3-30 C, using oxygen, to form an alkyl hydroperoxide followed by the decompsn. of the alkyl hydroperoxide in the presence of the metal cpd. immobilised on a carrier. |
