<p>PURPOSE:To effectively reduce power consumption in the circuit part forming a video signal for recording or in the circuit part supplying the video signal for recording to the rotary magnetic head without increasing the number of the rotary magnetic head even in the video tape recorder having smaller diameter of the tape guide cylinder as compared with 40mm diameter, for instance, of the tape guide cylinder in the standard video tape recorder and to provide the device prepared with the interchangeability with the standard video tape recorder. CONSTITUTION:The video signal for recording based on the video signal for which time axis compressing is performed with the prescribed time compression rate is recorded in a magnetic tape 45 running on the outer peripheral surface part of a tape guide cylinder 43 by two rotary magnetic heads 41, 42. Power supply control parts 121, 122 and 123 are provided for making the state to stop the supply of the operation power for the period when the unit division signal component for which the time axis compressing was performed can not be obtained for at least one of a recording signal formation part 130 and recording amplifying parts 36, 37.</p> |
