The invention relates to a device for driving a first member, termed engageable member, using a second member, termed driving member, the drive control being brought about by meshing means, characterised in that the engageable member (1) includes a sector which is free of means for interaction with the driving member, the engageable member possessing a retaining element (14) preventing it from being set into motion, the device also comprising a spring (11) which can exert an action at one point of the engageable member in order to set it into motion, the setting into motion of the engageable member bringing about a variation in the energy stored up in the spring, the meshing means being capable of satisfying two states: - a state termed state of rest for immobilising the retaining element, - a state termed working state for releasing the retaining element under the effect of a control addressed to the meshing means, the spring then setting the engageable member into motion. <IMAGE>
