PURPOSE:To reduce the weight without impairing the strength in a pad for an air bag device constituted of a pad main body covering an air bag and an insert integrated with the pad main body. CONSTITUTION:An insert 9 is constituted of a base section 10 fixed to a device frame and an adhesive section 11 adhesively fixed to the inside face of a pad main body 8. The adhesive section 11 is constituted of a frame section 11a and an opening section 11c located in the frame section 11a and opened outward while rupturing the pad main body 8 when an air bag 5 is expanded. A projection 21A is formed on the inner face of the frame section 11, and a through hole 22 is formed on the frame section 11a near the projection 11A. The projection 21A is covered and held by a cover section 23 integrally continued with the pad main body 8 through the through hole 22. |
