PURPOSE:To surely eliminate the teeth without leaving a part of the teeth, and also, to prevent the damage to a fastener tape by inserting an ironing piece between the teeth in a position roughly corresponding to length of the teeth required for a slide fastener of desired short length, and its adjacent teeth. CONSTITUTION:A slider 4 of a slide fastener 1 to be worked is allowed to slide to the rear position of a tensile gripper 20 being shorter than a desired working length, and the left and the right fastener stringers of the end parts to which a top-end piece is attached remain separated. Also, to a slide fastener holder 10 fixed to a position adjusted so that working can be executed to a desired length, one end of the slide fastener 1 is inserted/held, and fixed. Subsequently, the upper and the lower ironing pieces 51, 52 of a teeth eliminating device 50 are engaged between the teeth positioned in the part which roughly corresponds to the length of the teeth required for the slide fastener of desired short length, and the adjacent teeth. |
