PURPOSE:To enable a geographical information to be understood easily in a navigation device. CONSTITUTION:A title item is provided with an antenna 101 which receives a position information from an artificial satellite, a wireless station, etc., a position-measurement portion 110 which measures a position by decoding a signal of the antenna 101, a map data base 130, a map-retrieval portion 111, a position-verification portion 112, a display 114 for displaying the map and a measured position overlappingly, a compass 102 for detecting an advancing direction, and a direction-conformity portion 113 for controlling so that the advancing direction of the automobile is displayed from a lower-edge portion of the screen toward the upper-edge portion to some extent by the display 114. Furthermore, it is provided with a map-rotation portion 115 for rotating the map by receiving a signal from the direction-conformity portion 113, a distance- criterion portion 116 for measuring a distance between the measured position and a target point on the map, a sentence-synthesis portion 117 for synthesizing a sentence using a word of the target point receiving the signal of the distance-criterion portion 116 and a sentence database 131, a voice-synthesis portion 118, a microphone 103 receiving a voice of a driver, etc., and a voice-recognition portion 119. |
