The invention relates to a trap permitting selective elimination of flying insects in general and, more particularly, butterflies, flies, wasps and hornets. It is in the form of a container comprising: - two compartments: one located at the centre (1) and intended to receive products which attract the insects, and the other (2) located at the periphery and intended to receive products enabling them to be eliminated; - six access holes (3) located on the side wall, the shape and size of which holes are a function of the insects to be trapped; - a cover (4) and three gripping holes (5) located on the upper part. The entire container is transparent with the exception of the area located around the cover, which is opaque. This arrangement aims to attract light-seeking insects to the centre of the trap. <IMAGE>
