The subject matter of the invention is a line wheel used in the web guiding of a paper or cardboard machine. Shortage of space often prevents the use at roll ends of large line wheels supported on the roll extension, since devices important for operation, such as the collecting cup for the washing water of the washing scraper on the coating station, for example, have to be located in immediate proximity to the roll ends. According to the invention the line wheel 2 is supported slightly to the side of the axis of the roll 1, optimally 10-50 mm towards the web-roll contact line, which leads to the use of a somewhat smaller line wheel and provides more space on the other sides of the line wheel. <IMAGE>
