An improved can crusher (10) includes a coil spring (12) attached at its upper end to a disk (18). Crushing force is applied by the user's foot through the disk to a can within a chamber (32) formed by the coil. The coil is preferably flared for stability during crushing operations and to promote optimal can compression. Preferred embodiments allow release of air pressure during crushing. The device preferably may be compacted for storage with holders (34) positioned through the disk and under the coil. |
