PURPOSE:To facilitate accurate driving by expanding the voltage margin of the driving method for the AC type plasma display panel which makes a refreshment display. CONSTITUTION:By this driving method, the refreshment display type AC plasma display panel applies a driving voltage to discharge cells in partitioned areas of a display screen, area by area, in order through a couple of electrodes X and Y partitioning the discharge cells. After a charging pulse voltage PC for accumulating specific charges in the discharge cells first during a display period T assigned to the partitioned area, a maintaining pulse voltage PS which has shorter pulse width than the charging pulse voltage PC is applied for display operation and an erasing pulse voltage PD for erasing the charges accumulated with the maintaining pulse voltage PS is applied lastly.
