RUGGEDIZED BYPASS SWITCH

摘要

A ruggedized optical bypass switch includes a refractive member which has first and second positions for establishing a normal switch state and a bypass switch state. Since a path length of signals coupled to a network fiber through the refractive member is constant regardless of its position, effective focusing can be effectively achieved by use of only a single lens, the lens being either reflective or refractive. The refractive member is rotatable about its center of gravity between its first and second switching positions making it largely insensitive to shock and vibrations loads.
